As I lay on my bed for the last time,
Just waiting, for what may be my final breath,
My weathered down face manages a smile,
Recalling the beautiful memories of my life.
They come and go; some slower than the rest,
Like the frames of an old camera, or a book containing reminiscence,
Embracing me into a world unknown,
Guiding me through the world I've known.
As I walk down the road to oblivion,
I am not afraid, rather, I wait,
I have no worries, I have no fears,
And the smile I cherish, lights up on my face,
For one last time.
