When the dark overcame the bright,
When the abyss, immersed the light,
When the world fell on it’s knees,
I dared to hope.
When belief was just a fantasy,
When people were slaughtered in agony,
When man had lost his faith,
I dared to hope.
When the last straw finally fell,
When humankind heard their death knell,
When the Earth’s populace felt their end,
I dared to hope.
When everything started to crumble apart,
When I greeted the end, the incessant dark,
A tiny wisp left my heart,
Yet, I dared to hope.
